"Personally, I've been using Linux starting from 1998 and I'm thrilled to see it's making amazing progress on desktops since then. However, there is still a whole class of applications that isn't so wide spread on Linux – I'm talking about games. We strongly believe that this platform deserves A-class titles and see great potential of this market. Canonical (the company behind Ubuntu Linux) made a lot of the right steps to develop one of the most user-friendly systems and now it counts millions of active users all over the world. Still, it desperately lacks high-quality 3D games. That is the reason we are glad to cooperate with them", commented Denis Shergin, CEO of Unigine Corp.

"Oil Rush is a great example that Linux gaming era is dawning. This game has such great visuals that it can be compared with AAA-class titles and leave them in the dust", added John Pugh, Business Development Manager of Canonical Ltd.

Developers are working on bringing Oil Rush to other digital distribution channels; for now, it is already available in the Unigine online store only for $19.95.

"When it comes to OpenGL engines on the Linux OS, we haven't been able to find one that fully utilizes the graphics card as well as Unigine. Even using the most modern hardware, Unigine still takes full advantage of all available computing power and delivers jaw-dropping results. This is the most advanced real-time 3D engine we have seen on Linux" - Michael Larabel, Executive Editor ofPhoronix Media.
